Mansoor Sharify, DAOM (c), L.Ac

I am Fluent in English and Dari. I graduated from VUIM in 2019 with a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine. I studied Korean Medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Master Tung's with Dr. Tae Chong Choo. I also studied Balance Method, auricular, dao yin, qigong, and IVF with Dr. Hon Lee. This laid the foundation for my work with Dr. Frank Butler, whom I have continued to study Tuina with for 12+ years in the Zheng Gu Tuina system. I have completed the Sport Medicine Fellowship at Evolve Health NYC learning advance trauma, sports medicine, and orthopedic acupuncture under a traditional apprenticeship. I have finished a 2 year tutorial study with Dr. Robert Levine in Berkeley, CA, where I focused my apprenticeship on pulse, Tibetan medicine, homeopathy, Traditional Chinese medicine herbology. I have extensive continuing education in Neurofunctional Acupuncture with Dan Wunderlich, Intra-joint needling and Prolo-ligamentous acupuncture with Anthony von der Muhll, Segmental Acupuncture with Josh Margolis, TCM & Medicinal Cannabis with Raven Lang, Pediatric Herbalism with Francis Godwin, and Advance Cancer care with Dr. Kathy Taormina and Dr. Frank Butler.I have completed a 1 year apprenticeship with Yefim Gamgonishvelli, Jason Robertson, and Nyssa Tang in Wang Ju-Yi’s Applied Channel Theory. I have also completed Whitfield Reeves Sports Medicine Apprenticeship program focusing on athletic performance, acupuncture, and rehabilitation science.  

I teach Tuina, Chinese medicine pulse taking, Western Medicine, and advance anatomical concepts to students and licensed professional Acupuncturist. I have taught at the master's and doctoral level in accredited Acupuncture programs. My education has been a mix of formal education, traditional apprenticeship, extensive cadaver labs, coupled with intensive clinical shadowing.

I also have a great deal of experience in plant spirit medicine. I have quite a large collection of fine teas that I sell, particularly Oolong and Pu'er. I also manufacture and produce my own tinctures and herbal formulas for clinical use. I’m also fascinated by mycology, especially pertaining to clinical applications of mushroom for human health. I also lead forays and help with microscopic and organoleptic identification of herbs, spices, and mushrooms. My main herbal system is TCM, but I also have studied and use western herbal traditions, European, Ayurveda, Sasang, and middle eastern influences.I have assisted Najmieh Batmanglij in her Persian cooking classes and have helped chefs and restauranteur with their tea, spice, and menu planning. I strongly believe in food as medicine. 

I will be graduating from Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences in June 2023 with my DAOM, Doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

My clinic supports humans and canines from infancy to end of life. We treat all human medical disease and work with all health practitioners.  

I don't bill insurance, instead providing you with a superbill that you can turn into your insurance.
